Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 1 June 2026
MeasureDeck Ltd is committed to being fair and transparent about how subscriptions, billing, and refunds work. This policy explains your rights and options when cancelling your MeasureDeck subscription or requesting a refund.
1. Free Trial
MeasureDeck offers a 14-day free trial for new Starter and Professional plan accounts. During the free trial period:
- You have full access to all features within your chosen plan;
- No payment is required and no credit card is needed to start a free trial;
- You will not be charged at any point during the trial period;
- You can cancel at any time during the trial without incurring any charge;
- If you do not add a payment method before the end of the trial, your account will be automatically downgraded to read-only access.
MeasureDeck reserves the right to modify or discontinue the free trial offer for new registrations at any time, without affecting trials already in progress.
2. Cancellation — Monthly Subscriptions
2.1 How to Cancel
You can cancel your monthly subscription at any time by:
- Navigating to Settings > Billing > Cancel Subscription within the MeasureDeck platform; or
- Emailing hello@measuredeck.com with your account email address and a request to cancel.
Cancellation requests submitted by email will be processed within 2 business days. We will confirm cancellation by email to the workspace Owner address.
2.2 Effect of Cancellation
When you cancel a monthly subscription:
- Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period (the date on which your next payment would otherwise have been due);
- You will retain full access to the Services until the end of the current billing period;
- No further charges will be made after your subscription ends;
- Your data will be retained in read-only access mode for 30 days following the end of the subscription period, during which you can export your data.
2.3 Refunds for Monthly Subscriptions
Monthly subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. We do not provide pro-rated refunds for the current billing period upon cancellation — your access continues until the period ends. However, we will consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis in the following circumstances:
- You experienced a significant service outage or technical issue during the period that prevented use of the Services and was attributable to MeasureDeck;
- You were charged in error (e.g. duplicate charge, charge after cancellation confirmation);
- You cancelled within 7 days of a billing renewal and had not used the Services in that period.
To request a refund, email billing@measuredeck.com with your account details and the reason for your request. We will respond within 5 business days.
3. Cancellation — Annual Subscriptions
3.1 Annual Billing
Annual subscriptions are billed in advance for the full year. The annual rate offers a 20% discount compared to monthly billing in recognition of the longer commitment.
3.2 Cancellation Before Renewal
You can cancel an annual subscription at any time to prevent automatic renewal at the end of the annual period. Cancellation before the annual renewal date:
- Stops automatic renewal — you will not be billed for the next annual period;
- Does not affect access for the remainder of the current annual period;
- Does not automatically generate a refund for the unused portion of the current annual period.
3.3 Refunds for Annual Subscriptions
Annual subscriptions are generally non-refundable in respect of the current annual billing period. We will consider partial refunds (pro-rated for unused complete months remaining) in exceptional circumstances including:
- The business that purchased the subscription ceases trading;
- MeasureDeck materially reduces the core functionality of the plan purchased without adequate notice;
- An error in our billing resulted in an incorrect charge;
- Cancellation within 30 days of the initial annual purchase if no substantial use has been made of the Services.
To request an exception, email billing@measuredeck.com with full details of your request and the reasons for it.
4. Downgrades
You can downgrade your subscription plan at any time (e.g. from Professional to Starter). When you downgrade:
- The downgrade takes effect at the start of the next billing period;
- You continue to have access to your current plan until the next billing date;
- No refund is issued for the difference in price for the current billing period;
- If your current usage exceeds the limits of the lower plan (e.g. more than 5 users on Starter), you will need to reduce usage before the downgrade takes effect.
5. User Count Adjustments
MeasureDeck charges per active user. User count changes are handled as follows:
- Adding users: an additional user is charged pro-rata for the remainder of the current billing period on your next invoice;
- Removing users: a credit is applied to your next invoice for the pro-rated amount of the removed user's seat for the remainder of the current billing period;
- User additions and removals are reflected in real time in your account settings and are summarised in your billing portal.
6. Disputed Charges
If you believe you have been charged incorrectly, please contact billing@measuredeck.com within 30 days of the charge appearing on your payment method. We will investigate all billing disputes and respond within 5 business days. Please provide:
- Your account email address;
- The date and amount of the disputed charge;
- A description of the issue.
If you initiate a chargeback through your card provider before contacting us, we may suspend your account pending resolution of the dispute. We encourage direct resolution in the first instance.
7. Data Following Cancellation
We understand that your commercial data is valuable and may be needed for future reference (particularly for ongoing disputes or audit purposes). Following cancellation:
- Your account data is available in read-only export mode for 30 days following the end of the paid subscription period;
- You can export all data in standard formats (CSV, PDF) during this period;
- After 30 days, data is scheduled for deletion in accordance with our data retention policy;
- If you require extended data retention (e.g. for an ongoing dispute or regulatory requirement), please contact hello@measuredeck.com before the 30-day period expires — we can accommodate reasonable requests on a case-by-case basis.
8. Statutory Rights
If you are a consumer (rather than a business) using MeasureDeck, you may have additional rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (“CCRs”). In particular, consumers may have a 14-day cooling-off right for digital services contracts, which may be waived if you explicitly request immediate access.
MeasureDeck is primarily a business-to-business (B2B) service. If you have questions about your statutory rights, please contact us at hello@measuredeck.com.
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any statutory rights you may have as a consumer under applicable UK law.
